Alicia McDougall, OT Reg. (Ont.) is an Occupational Therapist and Psychotherapist, based in Toronto, Ontario.

Drawing from a client-centered and integrative approach, Alicia blends evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), neurofeedback, somatic and nervous system regulation practices, and yoga therapy to support individuals in cultivating emotional wellness, resilience, and meaningful change. She is passionate about making mental health care approachable, personalized, and rooted in each client’s unique strengths and goals.

In addition to her clinical work, Alicia is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto, where she supervises research focused on mental health interventions within occupational therapy practice. Alicia’s practice is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and collaboration—supporting individuals to reconnect with themselves and build lives that feel purposeful and well-supported.

The Mental Health and Addiction Intake Assessment and Treatment Planning is a comprehensive, client-centered service designed to understand your emotional, psychological, functional and social needs. This initial session is the foundation of your care journey and will provide insight, direction, and support as we work together to build a plan to help improve your mental health and well-being.

What to Expect

  1. Confidential 60–90 Minute Session – A licensed clinician will guide a conversation to explore your personal history, function, current concerns, symptoms, strengths, and goals.
  2. Standardized Screening Tools – Evidence-based questionnaires may be used to better understand symptoms like anxiety, depression, trauma, or substance use.
  3. Collaborative Goal Setting – Based on your needs, we’ll work with you to identify priorities and next steps, whether that’s therapy, referrals, or other supports.
  4. Personalized Care Plan – Following the assessment, you’ll receive a tailored care plan with recommended services and treatment options.
